The Dermal Space was born from the vision of Nancy and Yasmyn, a dynamic mother-daughter duo. Together, they unite decades of industry expertise with a passion for cosmetic nursing and education, aiming to redefine the standards of skin treatments.

Nancy's Journey in the Skin Industry
Nancy began in the skin industry 22 years ago with the launch of a clinic alongside her two sisters. This endeavour quickly flourished into 15 locations across Melbourne, laying the groundwork for Nancy's career. It was during this period that she found her passion for aesthetic device education, leveraging her Bachelor of Education to elevate the standards of practice within her clinics.
The sale of her clinics in 2010 marked a pivotal transition for Nancy, steering her towards a broader educational role. She founded The Australian Dermal & Laser Institute, dedicated to advancing the knowledge and skills of aesthetic professionals. Nancy's commitment to education has not gone unnoticed, earning her awards such as ABIA Educator of the Year for two consecutive years and Australian Enterprise Awards the following 2 years. These awards underscore her influence and dedication to nurturing industry talent.
Despite her success in education and training, Nancy felt a longing to be apart of transformative skin journeys. This inspired her to create The Dermal Space, where she can assist therapists firsthand. Her return is fuelled by a mission to in-still confidence in clients, guiding them through personalised skincare journeys that not only address surface-level concerns but also foster overall well-being.
Yasmyn completed her Bachelor of Nursing at La Trobe University, and began her medical career at Austin Hospital, working in plastics, orthopaedics and surgical wards. Growing up in a family passionate about skin and aesthetics, she spent hours in the break room of laser and skin clinics from a young age, instilling in her a deep appreciation for the ability to reignite confidence through aesthetics.
Yasmyn’s approach to cosmetic nursing is rooted in her belief of subtle enhancements accentuating individual beauty.
With a forward-thinking vision for integrating cosmetic injectables and skin treatments, Yasmyn co-founded The Dermal Space. She recognised the synergy between the two as essential for clients to achieve their ultimate skin goals. At The Dermal Space, Yasmyn is dedicated to being apart of personalised treatment plans, guiding her clients through their aesthetic journeys, and fostering a journey of transformation and confidence.

LISA WIEBE
Dermal Therapist
Lisa's career in the skin industry is driven by her passion for enhancing people's confidence through beauty. A glowing journey that began in Canada, with her love for beauty she graduated with honours. She has enriched her expertise with certifications in advanced techniques, including proficiency in multiple skincare lines, aesthetic device treatments and chemical peels. Having collaborated closely with doctors and nurses, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, which she continues to expand on. Among her favourite treatments to perform are Skin Needling and Hydrodermabrasion.
BRITTNAY MCDERMOTT
Beauty Therapist & Trainer
Brittnay, boasts over 10 years of experience in aesthetic devices, with specialised certificates in laser and light therapies. Her expertise has also led her to serve as an aesthetic device educator at The Australian Dermal and Laser Institute for more than 5 years. Brittnay's passion lies in empowering individuals by improving their skin health. She loves performing RF skin tightening and Skin Needling, alongside devising custom combination skin treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
